Creased as Marketplace Operator
Creased provides a platform that connects buyers and sellers. Creased itself is not the seller unless explicitly stated.
Seller Responsibilities
Sellers must:
- List items accurately and honestly
- Provide true, unedited photos
- Describe the condition and flaws accurately
- Ship items only to Creased's authentication center
- Ship within 72 hours of sale
- Use proper packaging
- Not send fake, replica, or unauthorized items
- Not substitute or swap items
Submitting counterfeit items is a serious violation.
Buyer Responsibilities
Buyers must:
- Provide accurate address details
- Pay using Creased's PayPal-powered checkout
- Not file fraudulent disputes
- Not attempt external payment methods
- Understand that authentication is final unless reviewed under PDAR
Payments & Payouts
Creased uses PayPal and/or other third-party payment processors. All payouts go to the PayPal account and/or bank account the seller connects to Creased.
If a payout processor is unavailable or imposes unreasonable delays, Creased will provide an alternative payout method as required by applicable state laws.
Creased is not responsible for:
- Account holds
- Frozen funds
- Verification delays
- Chargeback decisions
4. Authentication Services
Authentication protects buyers, sellers, the marketplace, and the Creased community. All items must pass through Creased's authentication system.
Dual-Layer Authentication
Creased uses both:
- Trained in-house human authenticators
- Third-party AI authentication services
These systems work together to detect replicas and ensure accuracy.
Purpose of Authentication
Authentication ensures:
- Customer safety
- Product legitimacy
- Marketplace integrity
- Protection against fraud
- Accurate condition verification
Authentication Outcomes
Passed Authentication
The item meets Creased's standards of authenticity and condition.
Escalated Authentication
Additional reviews needed due to:
- Inconsistencies
- Rare model verifications
- Manufacturing variations
- Condition concerns
This may increase processing time.
Failed Authentication
The item does not meet authenticity or listing condition standards.
Inauthentic / Counterfeit
Clear counterfeit indicators identified.
Confidential Authentication Methods
To protect Creased's authentication system:
- Criteria
- Indicators
- Internal processes
- AI thresholds
- Evaluation methods
are not publicly disclosed. This prevents counterfeiters from adapting.
Authentication Is a Professional Opinion
Consistent with StockX, GOAT, and industry standards: Authentication is a professional expert opinion, not an absolute guarantee.
No system is 100% perfect due to:
- Replica evolution
- Factory inconsistencies
- Aging materials
- Inconsistent manufacturing variations
Creased aims for the highest accuracy possible.
5. Failed Authentication, Counterfeits & Seller Penalties
Failed Authentication Process
If an item fails authentication:
- Buyer receives a full refund
- Seller is issued a Failed Authentication Strike
- Seller is sent a PayPal invoice for return shipping
- Invoice must be paid before the item is returned
- Seller may face listing restrictions
Counterfeit Goods Protocol
If an item is counterfeit:
- Buyer receives a full refund
- Seller receives a Counterfeit Strike
- Seller must pay for return shipping
- Seller may be temporarily or permanently banned
- Creased may escalate cases for further investigation
Even one counterfeit submission may justify permanent removal.
Strike System Overview
Failed Authentication Strike
Issued for items that:
- Fail condition checks
- Do not match description
- Have undisclosed defects
Counterfeit Strike
Issued for replica, fake, or unauthorized items. This is considered severe.
Abuse Strike
Issued for:
- Off-platform deal attempts
- Fraud
- Harassment
- Platform manipulation
Strike Penalties
Based on severity and repetition, Creased may impose:
- Temporary selling freezes
- Higher commission rates
- Listing visibility reductions
- Feature restrictions
- Permanent account bans
6. Return Shipping Obligations
If an item fails authentication or is counterfeit, sellers must pay Creased's return shipping invoice.
If the invoice is unpaid, Creased will hold the item for a minimum of 45 days. After 45 days, and after reasonable notice attempts to the seller, the item may be deemed abandoned in accordance with applicable state laws.
Creased is not responsible for storing abandoned items beyond the legally required periods.
7. Finality of Authentication Decisions
Authentication decisions are final except through PDAR, subject to applicable consumer protection laws.
Creased's authentication process is the primary method of determining authenticity. Creased may, at its discretion, consider additional third-party information when required by law, but is not obligated to adopt outside opinions unless mandated by applicable regulations.
Creased does not rely on opinions from:
- Retail store employees
- YouTube or TikTok legit checkers
- Facebook/Discord/Reddit groups
- Non-professional third-party apps
- Unverified "sneaker experts"
The only internal review method available is PDAR, except where local laws provide additional consumer rights.
8. Post-Delivery Authenticity Review (PDAR)
A buyer who received an authenticated item but believes there is an issue may open a PDAR case.
PDAR Eligibility
Buyers have 3 days from delivery to:
- Submit a claim
- Upload photos
- Describe concerns
PDAR Creased Review Process
Creased reviews:
- Internal authentication photos
- AI logs
- Authenticator notes
- Chain-of-custody data
- Packaging photos
- Any internal flags
When Refunds Are Issued
A refund will be issued only if Creased confirms:
- An internal processing error
- A labeling or SKU mix-up
- A chain-of-custody error
- A proven authentication mistake
When Refunds Are NOT Issued
Refunds will NOT be issued if:
- A third-party "checker" disagrees with Creased
- A store employee says it's fake
- Buyer has changed their mind
- Buyer damaged or altered the item
- PDAR window has expired
Third-Party Information (New York Compliance and California)
Users located in New York may submit third-party authentication information during a PDAR review if they believe it supports their claim.
Creased will review such information only to the extent required by New York and California General Business Law, but:
- Creased is not required to rely on, accept, or adopt the conclusions of any third-party authenticator, unless mandated by applicable law.
External information must include:
- The full name of the evaluator
- Date of evaluation
- Detailed explanation of the methods used
- Clear, unedited photos provided by the buyer
Creased may reject any third-party submission that is:
- Unverifiable
- Incomplete
- Inconsistent with known manufacturing standards
- Provided by uncredentialed evaluators
- Based on retail employee opinions
- Based on social media or non-professional legit checks
Creased's internal authentication records, AI logs, human authenticator notes, and chain-of-custody data remain the primary and controlling evidence in all PDAR cases.
Submission of third-party information does not guarantee a refund or overturning of an authentication decision. Creased retains the right to make the final determination unless applicable law requires otherwise.
